ISAIAH 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you ; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Let’s be honest, sometimes as humans we want to be sad. We want to sit around and feels sorry for ourselves, we even want others to feel sorry for us.Its easier to sit around and mope than it is to get up and take action. It’s easy to just get through the day. The kids are fed and their safe so I did a job well done…NO! I know you actually invested in this E-Book, but are you REALLY ready to get up and do the work? Thats why step #1 is to want to get out of this DEPRESSION.
Mathew 7:7-8
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Prayer is not something that only worked in the “bible days”! God is still on the throne! He is alive and well and He is still in the business of answering prayers and performing miracles! Step 2 ask God for help. He not only wants to hear from you but He wants to help you. I strongly believe that this IS what truly helped me get out of mom-depression…getting on my knee and giving my whole-self to God. Say this simple prayer…Lord I love you and I desperately need your help. I can NOT do this on my own. I’m giving myself to you once again. Please take my burdens, my sadness, and loneliness, place in me peace, happiness and reignite that fire for motherhood and for life in me! In Jesus name I pray Amen.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.”
I don’t think I can stress this enough! Moms take care of yourselves! You can NOT pour from an empty cup. We ARE parts of God’s holy temple TOO! That means we matter as well! Take care of your Spiritual health, take time to meditate on Gods word and refresh your spirit. Just like our minds and bodies our spirit needs to be up kept too.Take care of your mental health, if your really suffering with depression seek a therapist or medical help.Never be scared to admit when somethings really wrong. Take care of your physical health, get up wash your face, fix your hair, put on something other than sweats (even if you’re just doing laundry all day). Take time throughout the day for yourself, to just……breathe….
John 20:22
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.“
There’s something about going OUTSIDE and being in God’s creation that revives our spiritual and mental health. Breathing in a gust of fresh air and letting the sun hit our skin is just….relaxing…and just us life. Get out of the trap of being in doors all day, looking at the same walls, and synthetic lights. Just as kids need to go outside everyday SO DO WE! Simply go for a walk around your neighborhood or go to the park. Not only is it good for your spiritual and mental health but a 15 minute walk a day is good for your physical health too.
John 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
That they may have it MORE ABUNDANTLY… That means our creator wants us to be happy. He wants us to live a life full of joy and happiness. To make and achieve goals. Get a hobby or start a new business from home. Yes we have a full time job in parenting but that doesnt mean we COMPLETELY put our lives on the back burner. Of course at some point we have to like when we have a newborn, but once your child is a certain age you can start to pick up a nice side hustle or hobby. Learn the guitar, start making crafts, create a planner, breed rabbits! WHATEVER MAKE YOU HAPPY! As long as it isnt in contrary to God’s word have fun. God put that fire in your heart and He wants you to live it out.
Being a stay at home mom is one of the hardest jobs out there. It can be easy to slip into depression, but it’s so important to remember that it is possible to get back out.
Step one is to want to get out of depression. Step two is to pray about everything. Step three is to take care of ourselves. Step four is to go outside and get some fresh air. Step five is to find something that we love to do and get a hobby.
With simple changes and our own routine, we can get out of that depression. Treating ourselves with kindness and love is so important, and taking care of our mental health is a priority. It’s okay to be gentle with ourselves, to take the time to do something we enjoy, and to take the time to rest.
It can be hard to make these changes when we’re in a bad place, but it’s important to remember that it is possible to feel better. We are capable of taking the steps necessary to get out of depression and start feeling like ourselves again.
